| 3 Hi Bert, This may be of interest to your members. I purchased a Memoscan OBD2 scanner code reader (U581) and tested it on my car (W168) it works great ! Reads all fault codes plus Live Data, clears all fault codes including Engine Check Light. Now when I go to a garage I will know if they are bull-shitting me. | contributed by:-George |
| 4 Lofty, hi there, have been using the U581 for a while now. I am going to suggest it works fine with the standard generic OBD2 error codes, but may not read or reset the Mercedes specific codes, I could be wrong. I was able to clear a cylinder 4 misfire error code with ease, which was due to a air mass flow meter fault, solved by washing the two reed/film sensors with carburettor cleaner. That was thanks to your website. djc | contributed by:-djc For MAFS cleaning procedure SVC global web site log in. | 19/11/08 MB charged £73.40 including VAT for diagnostic test to check for fault bringing up 'F' on fully Auto transmission A160 W168 1999. | Fault stored was P1872 - Gear selector module......."fault is only stored at present and code was able to be erased, if fault reoccurs then new module is required" They told me that the fault may or may not happen again, however had the fault been "recurring" as opposed to "stored" then a repair would be needed asap. |
